Q: What types of scholarships does the CTF award?

A: The majority of scholarships awarded by the CTF are bursaries and grants which partially support the cost of studies.

 

Q: What does the CTF scholarship cover? Does it include accommodation?

A: The CTF scholarship usually only covers academic costs. The funds are provided directly to the University. The CTF scholarship does not cover accommodation.

 

Q: What courses of study are covered by the CTF scholarship?

A: The CTF scholarship is not limited to specific degrees or courses as long as the applicant has matriculated at the University. By the nature of the applicant pool, the majority of recipients have been Master’s degree though awards for undergraduate and PhDs are also given. The CTF does not cover MBA’s.

 

Q: Can I hold a CTF scholarship at the same time as another scholarship?

A: Yes. We request that you declare the other scholarship you are holding or are applying for during your application process.

 

Q: How do I apply for a CTF scholarship?

A: During your Cambridge University application. To apply for a CTF scholarship, you must indicate on your University application that you are requesting for financial support. Your details will then be forwarded to the Cambridge Trusts for screening and then on to the CTF office for interview.

 

Q: When in the application cycle should I apply for a CTF scholarship? Is there an annual deadline?

A: The application cycle follows that of the University of Cambridge. Please ensure that you indicate your request for financial support from the beginning of the University application process. We would be unable to process your application otherwise.

 

Q: How many scholarships does the CTF award per year?

A: Scholarships are awarded based on the number of applicants as well as the funding available. The annual number is not fixed.

 

Q: Are there any preferred colleges for the CTF scholarship?

A: There is no preference in terms of colleges. The key criterion is that you have been accepted for studies at a Cambridge college.

 

Q: What is the process to follow after application?

A: After screening by the Cambridge Trusts, the list of approved applicants is forwarded to the CTF. You may be invited for interview by the first week of August of each academic year. You will be requested to make yourself available for interview on the appointed date.

 

Q: When will I know the outcome of my application?

A: You will usually be informed within two weeks of your interview whether your application has been successful.
